A beautiful bathroom makeover BEFORE & AFTER pics

This is what the bathroom looked like before the great remodel got started. Typical older home bath with lots of tile.

Is this not the cutest bathroom. I love it! I know a lot of hard work and many, many hours went into this bathroom  makeover. I want to say a big thank you to my friends Hugh & Karla for letting me share this with all of you. Before I forget, this is Hugh's very first remodel....hello! Job well done! I know if this was my bathroom every time I walked in or by it would make me smile. You may just want to scroll back up & take another peek at the before...

Bathroom makeover...

Just a little teaser be back in a bit with more pictures of this oh, so cute, bathroom makeover! You won't want to miss it! It's that cute and cheery!

One month...

Today. is my one month *BLOG-IVERSARY* looking forward to meeting lots of new friends here. Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Hugs Kim

Tic-Toc....I made over a wall clock!

This is what she looked like *BEFORE* looks like someone else had done a little makeover on her. Only to come home with me to get another! Had my daughter still have this color scheme I may have just kept it this color (would have gotten rid of the brass} just can't do brass! I already had the black paint used for this project this only cost me $1.99 to make! Not bad for a wooden wall clock!

Here it is *AFTER* I love what a little paint can do! Who would have thought it was the same Tic-Toc little clock! Next time you see something that catches your eye don't disregard it so fast! Paint is your best friend in DIY crafty re-dos!

Jewelry box re-do...

Here she sits looking so sad...

Outside she goes to get started on.
This shelly thingy add on needed to go (off it went)!

Time for lots of sand paper & sanding!

All sanded & ready for some primer.

All primed (no laughing at my fancy spray booth)!

First coat of watered down paint (I used black) just rubbed it on with an old washcloth! I did 3 light coats!

Then after all was dry I put a coat of min-wax on it.

Loving it!

Lets not forget what she looked like before her face-lift!

Now look at her, she is so cute I could just hug her! : )

Tomorrows agenda...cereal 101 classes...

I knew I should have been concerned when I saw the scissors!

Really, child?! Tomorrow we will be holding proper  cereal opening  101 classes!

Shh....don't tell her..

This little furry face does not realize she is a dog! Not even kidding! She is so spoiled  ahem...I mean well loved, seriously, who could not love a face that stink'n cute! Wink! You can even see in this picture that her one eye is pigmented pink (my one daughter used to walk around & say my dog has pink eye!) ; )

Window pane (pain)! ; )

I know window panes have been used in decorating for quite some time. I need some input on what is the easiest method for painting/distressing one of these. Did you use a paint brush? Spray it? Any advice would be sincerely appreciated. If I plan to use this for pictures in each glass pane how or what does one use to keep them in place? I would want to be able to have them showing from behind the glass and not quite as big as each of the panes (maybe about 2 inches of clear glass showing around each picture?!) looking forward to your helpful ideas that you can share with me!

Looky what I found! A dirty, dusty, grimy window pane! I have been keeping my eyes peeled open for one of these for awhile now. Actually, I was able to score two of these ($5.00 each)! I pulled out the Windex & paper towels and went to town on it....only to realize that I went through a gazillion paper towels and was only as far as one side of one window! Too cold outside for the garden hose. I brought it inside and gave it an shower....yes, I did! I will do it again in a heart beat! I should have taken a picture of it in the shower with all that grime rolling off...

My worldly find...

Love this lighted metal globe I just recently found at the thrift store!  Not a bad find for $7.99! It is sitting proudly downstairs in the family room.

$ 5.00 to spend...

Grandma sent the girls each $5.00 inside a Valentines Day card. This is what Avery found out thrifting for $3.99! She actually found these all on her own with no help! Look at these they don't even look like they have ever been worn! Great find Avery girl! I think she may be taking after her mommy when it comes to bargain hunting! I was so proud of her find that I had to share with all of you! ; )

Not bad for only being 8 & finding such a great bargain!

This is how I spent my Friday morning...

I had the privilege to go help and hangout with lots of little kindergartners this morning. Not only was it their Valentines Day party they were also celebrating their 100th day of school! Lots of fun games, crafty projects, food & candy galore! Nothing better than seeing lots of toothless smiles!

While I had my fancy schmancy paint booth up I figured why not grab a couple more things to paint!! You can see the before color in the picture below in the last post. (top left corner)

Lots of sanding...

This is going to be a fun transformation project! This ugly piece was sitting in the corner of my bedroom looking so pathetic and outdated. First thing was to attack it with the sander & some primer. Like the box I put the pieces in to dry?! I was so bummed I missed the garbage truck this morning! Glad I did now....this box was perfect for this project! You can even see my next project I have going (far top left)!

A girl can dream...

I went to Ikea for the very first time a few weeks ago! I was a little overwhelmed at how BIG & BUSY this place was! If I was in a bigger house with a room dedicated to just me (a girl can dream) I would love to have this white couch & ginormous mirror I saw there. It just looked so dreamy & comfortable...one day!

A couple more things done!

So glad the weather has been good enough to bring some things outdoors & spray paint! A few more things that can be checked off my to-do list! Doing the happy dance!
